Summer 2022

As the festival season comes to a close, I’m looking back over the summer and thinking how crazy it’s been.

I kicked off the season with the band at Bevrijdingspop; opened for Bob Wayne in Hoofddorp; partied with Sierra Ferrell and her lovely band for two days straight in Amsterdam; opened for Elliott Brood at The Patronaat; played a bunch of UK shows with my very talented buddy, Quentin, on banjo; played on British radio; played tons of great Dutch shows; made friends with Argentinian folk-punk band, Angry Zeta; hung out backstage with The Bridge City Sinners; and even disappeared to Australia for a couple of weeks!

Being able to travel again, meant that I could finally play for and catch up with a lot of old friends, especially in the UK. Not to mention all the wonderful new friends that I’ve made along the way. Overall, I’m very grateful to be back at it and blown away by how much I have achieved in the last six months.

Now that Autumn is slowly creeping in, it’s time to harvest a few of these summer stories.

So let’s start at the beginning, Bevrijdingspop 2022. Here’s a video that my good friend, Punk Ivo, made documenting the day. It’s now the official music video for, “Mortgages & 9-5’s”.

I hope you enjoy it, and don’t forget to share it with your friends and post it all over social media for me ;-)

Next time I’ll tell you all about how security at Bevrijdingspop wouldn’t let me into my own show…

‘Til then,

Dan
